Formule & Méthode de Calcul
TDEE = BMR × Activity Multiplier (1.2 to 1.9)
If your BMR is 1800 calories and you have a sedentary desk job (1.2 multiplier), your TDEE is exactly 2160 calories. Eating above 2160 causes weight gain; eating below causes weight loss.
Bonnes Pratiques & Conseils
- Don't Overestimate Activity: The most common error is selecting 'Highly Active' because you lift weights for 45 minutes. Unless you are a construction worker or professional athlete, you are likely 'Lightly Active'.
- Prioritize Protein for Satiety: When cutting calories, partition at least 30% of your TDEE to Protein. Protein has the highest thermic effect (burning more calories to digest) and preserves lean muscle mass in a deficit.
- Adjust Dynamically: As you lose weight, there is less physical mass for your body to move, causing your TDEE to naturally drop. You must recalculate your TDEE every 4 to 5 weeks to break through plateaus.
